Daniel Craig Out, Tom Hiddleston In As James Bond?

It looks like we could be getting a new James Bond soon and we’ve got the details for you right now. Is Daniel Craig officially done with playing Bond, James Bond? The Daily Mail brings word that current “James Bond” Daniel Craig has reportedly turned down a whopping 68 million pounds or around 99 million dollars to play the world famous MI6 Agent in two more sequels with one source saying quote, “Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.” The reported offer would not have been a direct payday to star in the two films, but would have also included endorsements, a portion of the film’s profits and for acting as a co-producer on the films. The amount would have been almost double what he had made on all four of his previous outings, a reported 38 million pounds. While the Daily Mail isn’t always the most reputable publication and the story should be taken with a grain of salt, they have often been spot on when it comes to Bond related news. Of course, Craig not wanting to play Bond again shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. He was quoted as saying he’d rather slit his wrist than do another Bond film while doing press for last year’s Spectre though he is contracted to do another and later said he would return, but it would only be for the money. One of the main reasons for his decision to exit has been chronic knee problems thanks to an injury suffered during filming on Spectre. We’ll of course have to wait for an official announcement from the studio before we say our goodbyes to Craig as “Bond”, but if he does exit the franchise, there may already be an actor in line to take over the role. In recent weeks, Thor star Tom Hiddleston has quickly become the frontrunner to be the next Bond with several bookmakers suspending betting on the actor to land the role when large bets began pouring in. For his part, Hiddleston has been playing down the possibility saying he has not met with anyone involved with the Bond films. The actor had reportedly met with Spectre and Skyfall director Sam Mendes, but Hiddleston’s reps have denied any meeting taking place.
